A Blog for the leaders at Calvary McAllen

This blog is a place for Lead Pastor Julio to share updates on leadership ideas and developments at Calvary. I encourage feedback and comments as we together seek God's leadership for our church and for His mission.

Dr. Joe Gerault, Pastor for Pastoral Care

Dr. Joe Gerault has been on our staff for over eighteen years.  He and his wife Janet have served people lovingly at Calvary as they have made the Valley their home.  Pastor Joe has most recently served Calvary in the area of pastoral care.  He relates to the deacon body, gives support to the senior adult monthly luncheon and the senior adult games night, makes pastoral visits and assists the Lead Pastor in various other areas.  Formerly he also served in the areas of pastoral administration and educational ministries.  Due to his Ataxia, Pastor Joe went to part-time employment in July of last year.  Effective this month, Joe will reduce his staff involvement to one-quarter-time due to physical limitations.  In Dr. Gerault’s own words, “I'd just like to testify for all that it's an honor and a privilege to be able to still serve the Lord with whatever abilities I have, and I am so blessed to be able to do it at Calvary Baptist Church.  He has been so good to me.  Regardless of my struggles with Ataxia or the challenges any of us face in this life, He is worthy of all our praise and focus.  He is the only dependable and trustworthy constant in our lives.”

We are grateful for Pastor Joe's ministry, for his great example of joyful faith, and for his sense of humor.

Below are some photos that demonstrate other aspects of Joe's life:
